| THYROID PROFILE
5-PANEL TEST Collect 3 to 5 mL of blood in a red top tube (RTT), allow to clot for 30 min before centrifugation (to avoid hemolysis). Transfer SERUM to empty redtop or plastic tube. 1.5 mL SERUM is REQUIRED for the Thyroid Antibody Profile. For patient on thyroid medication, please draw blood 4-6 hours after giving thyroid medication. Test includes T3, T4, free T3, free T4 and TGAA. |

Reminder: These lab profiles are being offered as part of a collaborative research project on thyroid, metabolism, behavioral and seizure disorders. Special prices have been assigned to these tests. Your veterinarian will charge an additional amount to cover drawing blood, preparing the blood, record keeping and overhead. Please respect their needs.
Please prepare the specimen
according to the directions for each test. Pack vial(s) in a small sturdy cardboard
box with padding to cushion vial(s), and send
by US Priority Mail, US Express Mail, Fed-Ex, UPS or other courier.

Hemopet, a non-profit organization, will submit the samples to a qualified reference lab for analysis. Dr. Dodds will interpret the results and provide written interpretation and recommendations to your vet. Please include your vet's fax number and your fax number if you also wish a copy.
